“Do not tell others about God’s compassion. Do not preach your religion or tout your alliance with God. Be compassion. Be forgiveness. Be love and kindness and there is no need to convince anyone of anything, because a greater power is flowing through you, one which needs no endorsement and is beyond contestation.” -Amy Larson, amyjalapeno.com
“You cannot have compassion without understanding. You cannot have understanding without autonomous thought. And you cannot have autonomous thought when you have faith in another’s.” -Amy Larson, amyjalapeno.com
“If you feel something other than compassion for any living thing, then you are viewing that being, creature, etc. through the scrim of ego, through beliefs and ideas and feelings that prevent you from seeing the truth and distinguishing reality. Dissolving those internal blocks is the purpose, path, and destiny of the human race and any resistance to it is pain and suffering, a feeling of separation, segregation, self righteousness and despair; which ironically, supplies more fuel for your purpose and presents more opportunities to dissolve the illusion.” -Amy Larson, amyjalapeno.com
“Internalize everything without identifying with any of it.” -Amy Larson, amyjalapeno.com
“Persons appear to us according to the light we throw upon them from our own minds.” -Laura Ingalls Wilder
When I first started “amyjalapeno.com” I would post quotes of others mingled with my own musings. About a year and a half in, I decided to challenge myself with the daily hot! quote by seeing how far I could go down the rabbit hole on my own. Alas, I have been able to come up with anything as brilliant as this. It beautifully sums up how much we taint reality and the lives of others when our fear and imagination fills in the gaps. This quote is the ultimate reality check and I absolutely love it.
Your perception of every single person you encounter is entirely colored by your primary thoughts and feelings.
“Everything is temporary. If you take one moment, one thought, one feeling and make it the sum of your life, the result is an inclination to give up. It is despair. But if you accept that your capacity is immense, that you can care for many worlds within your one using compassion and understanding, then life becomes entertaining and joyful – a continual metamorphosis, written in your DNA for generations to come. Your greatest contribution to the world is not the world as it is now, but to you as you are now and for those that follow.” -Amy Larson, amyjalapeno.com
“Every human being has superior and inferior qualities, thoughts, and behaviors, whether they get expressed or not. The most prevalent qualities are those that get the most focus. Which ones are you looking at?” -Amy Larson, amyjalapeno.com
“Why do you ignore me? Why do you divide and separate? It is as if the only parts of me that exist are those most convenient to you.” -Amy Larson, amyjalapeno.com
“There is no other way to be more god-like than to embrace all, feel all, love all.” -Amy Larson, amyjalapeno.com
“Every action and every moment and every word either includes or excludes, divides or connects.” -Amy Larson, amyjalapeno.com
