You might be asking yourself, What does this have to do with getting unstuck?
When we refuse to let go of overused beliefs, to let them die (so that new ideas and new beliefs can do their magic), we feed the ego. Hence, we poison our behavior, our authenticity, and turn our back on love. We become rigid and frigid to the warm wonder of life that surrounds us.
If you want to have any sense of freedom, you must have a weekly, daily, hourly reckoning of existing ideas, ideals, and beliefs.
Otherwise, you become a sort of Gollum, refusing let go of ‘the precious’, even willing to sacrifice the wonderful gift of your whole life for something that worked a brief period of time. Your precious beliefs (whether religious or not) may elude to an extension of your life; but in reality, they shrink it into the narrow parameters of their definition.
We do not know all things. We are works in progress and at each level of the game we need certain beliefs to drive us to the next level, beliefs that become inconsequential to the very plane it helped us achieve.
“With every authentic experience, every encounter with truth, your perspective changes. Hence, your world reshapes. The quicker one sifts through ideas and beliefs, the more frequent their encounter with truth.” -AJ Larson, amyjalapeno.com
