Intelligent Design = Intelligent Decline. To find man devoid of doubt is to discover our intellectual decline. Questions herald discovery. Discovery introduces new perspectives into our personal reality. And compounding perspectives are the precedent to more questions. There is nothing divine about dumbing down the human race.

In his presentation “The Perimeter of Ignorance” Neil deGrasse Tyson explains a trend amongst past geniuses who reached the limits of their understanding and turned to religion or God to fill in the blanks of their knowledge. He also illuminates key points in history where scientific discovery and cultural advancement existed in the world and ties their decline, in each instance, to the political implementation of religion.

(The stream is about 40 minutes, but well worth the watch. The first half of it provides a base of understanding for the enlightening assertions he makes in the final half. The video quality is relatively poor, but the content is invaluable.)
