I have observed that most people keep their word when the other person means something to them, when it’s someone they deeply care about.
Some (on a slightly more shallow level) simply want something the other person can give them and will submit themselves to all sorts of psychological maltreatment to get it.
Not every time, but often enough, I have observed this manipulative, squeaky-wheel behavior being rewarded while the quiet, kind person of integrity goes unappreciated, dismissed, looked over (this is the abandonment I am referring to in the quote above). The latter should be the one acknowledged (because that is the person that appreciates and has earned it), not the former. The former needs to be put in a corner and ignored. Seriously.
Well, that is, unless you enjoy the indecisiveness, the psychological abuse and being held emotionally hostage. In that case, my deepest sympathies for your psychosis.
Interesting thoughts Amy.. not sure how I missed this
Glad I found it.
